Tennis and pickleball lessons are returning to Lake Front Park for 2025! Head instructor Laura Digan is back for her fourth year running the Lake Front Park tennis and pickleball program. This Fall John Wilson will be joining the team as Head Pickleball Instructor. John is a retired Grosse Pointe South Biology teacher who taught there for 25 years. He was formerly a racquetball enthusiast who later found his calling during the Pickleball craze. He is an Ambassador for the USPA (U.S.Pickleball Association) and teaches Pickleball at the Macomb and Shelby Township Racquet Centers. We are excited to have John lead our Pickleball program this Fall.
This Program is offered to all residents who are interested in learning and enhancing their on-court skills.
Lessons are offered to various age groups and all levels of players from beginner through advanced. The program goal is to provide an organized recreational and social environment while encouraging students to play tennis and pickleball with good sportsmanship.
If you are interested in learning how to play pickleball in this fast growing family minded sport, we encourage you to sign up for our introduction class. This season we have introduced a new youth pickleball in the evenings! Consider it a great way to exercise, make friends and learn this exciting new game. Two pickleball instructors will teach how to hit the ball properly, and understand the scoring and rules of the game.
